The “Walk, Don’t Run” Guitar

The “Walk, Don’t Run” guitar that was heard all over the world on The Ventures’ hit will be on display at the Oklahoma Museum of Popular Culture.

The 1965 candy-apple red Mosrite Ventures II guitar was played by Ventures' guitarist, Nokie Edwards. It features the signature “German Carve” body, interesting placement of single-coil pickups, and Mosrite’s proprietary vibrato tail piece. The museum acquired it from Nokie's estate along with the case, the amp and the strap that made the sound of The Ventures famous.

The famous player and guitar maker both have roots in Oklahoma, so the axe found a good home.
