The Sorcery Of Guitar

At first, it was something else.
Now it is something different.
If guitar was an illness,
you would be on the spectrum.
In most cases, it isn’t an illness,
so you are on a path.
Do the math.
Out of 8 billion people on Earth,
10% play guitar. That’s 800 hundred million
guitar players. Some of them quit today.
Some of them just started this week.
How many people played guitar today?
I confess, I can’t do the math.
I’m a guitar player.
Guitar players usually only count to four
over and over again.
One part is the communication.
Guitars don’t use words.
That’s not saying there can be no argument.
It’s blues or it’s not.
It’s rock or it’s not.
It’s jazz or it’s not.
Guitars in agreement are beautiful and temporary.
Another part is solitary confinement
shared only with a scale or a riff or a style.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing
and expecting different results.
People holding guitars just call that practice.
You don’t have to say how many guitars you own.
Each one was just a phase you were going through.
You remember those times every time you hold that guitar.
No matter what you paid for it then,
it is worth more than that now
on so many levels.
